Online Travel Vietnam: Thanks to the relative calm and increasingly improving security measures across tourist hotspots, India posted a record number of arrivals of 5.58 million last year with a growth rate of 9.3 over 2009, which recorded 5.11 million arrivals. However, it was the dramatic growth in domestic tourists which helped a number of players tide over the effects of the global economic slowdown. Domestic tourist numbers were pegged at around 550 million last year.
